Three and a half years ago, Human of New Bethany, Darlene, was living in her car when she received a call about an open single room at New Bethany. Having moved 7 times in the year prior, she became a resident of the Single Room Occupancy Program. Darlene is so grateful for the stability she’s had for the last 3 years, saying that “New Bethany Ministries more or less saved my life.”

While at New Bethany, Darlene has taken advantage of the services offered, including the computer room, and relies on the assistance available for job hunting, completing paperwork, and paying rent. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic caused stress and uncertainty, her neighboring residents banded together for support. Darlene now works at The Caring Place in Allentown, packing lunches to send out to the community. She wishes for continued health and love.
