Now more than ever our community needs you! As the pandemic continues, so does the hardship of our neighbors. This spring we are turning to you for support. Let’s reduce food insecurity TOGETHER!
SPRING AGAINST HUNGER 2021
New Bethany Ministries has never closed its doors in over 35 years, and the pandemic was no different. We continued to serve those in desperate need and observed a 50% increase in the number of people served through our food pantry since the onset of the pandemic. This increased demand remains consistent to this day. Our community members need our help! Nobody deserves to go to bed with an empty stomach. Help us give warmth and comfort to those in their darkest hour.

Last winter, both Rhonda and Roy were preparing for a major glass show at the Bethlehem House Gallery. When the pandemic postponed that show, R&R decided to focus their art towards helping those in the community hardest hit. New Bethany Ministries was feeding about 120 people a day at its take-out kitchen and pantry, so R&R decided to aim at producing 120 art-glass bowls to donate to New Bethany for their annual Spring Against Hunger appeal.
Hand-made by Rhonda Snowaert and Roy Gruver at the R&R Glass Studio in Bethlehem, each bowl is a one-of-a-kind piece of art, food-safe and can be used for a variety of purposes.
Care Instructions: Please DO NOT place your bowl in the oven, freezer, microwave or dishwasher.
R&R Glass Studio in Bethlehem, PA, was founded by Roy Gruver and Rhonda Snowaert, who together have 30 years of glass-making experience. R&R is principally a kiln-formed glass studio producing fused and cast glass art. R&R is also one of the most influential teaching studios in eastern PA as well as providing working studio space for other glass artists. In addition, both Rhonda and Roy teach at renowned glass studios elsewhere, including the Corning Museum of Glass and the Pittsburgh Glass Center.
To see other works by Rhonda and Roy, visit the Bethlehem House Gallery, April 16 – June 12, 2021.
