New Bethany teamed up with ArtsQuest to present Poppies of Remembrance, Lanterns of Hope to honor those affected by COVID-19. On August 13, 2021, lit lanterns commemorated lives touched by the pandemic. Lanterns can be dedicated to a loved one lost, those still struggling with the virus’ effects, or a hero fighting the pandemic on the front lines.
Donations are gratefully accepted in lieu of purchase. Proceeds will aid New Bethany in offering hope and support to those experiencing poverty, hunger, and homelessness, and benefit ArtsQuest’s mission to provide access to exceptional artistic, cultural and educational experiences, enriching our community.
- During the Poppies of Remembrance, Lanterns of Hope event, Musikfest performers and attendees will be asked to #PauseTheMusik for a moment of silence in recognition of those we have lost during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Keep an eye on social media and our website for more information about the community lighting the lanterns and your opportunity to participate from home.
- Buildings throughout the Lehigh Valley will light up red in collaboration. Thanks to City Center Allentown, Moravian University, Lehigh Valley Health Network, the Blast Furnaces, Nitschmann Middle School, and St. Luke’s University Health Network and additional companies for their participation.
Thank you to our partner, Uline!
